Ive been living in NYC for a little over a month now and I have been hearing a lot of this girl Antha Bee on the radio and blaring out of people's ear buds on the train on my way to work. Her name just popped up in our drop box this morning along with a couple links to her music and her visuals and I thought I should share these with you guys.
First is a little Bio About Antha Bee to get you acquainted:
"With vocal ability reminiscent of the late Whitney Houston, Anthone Fowler, is a young woman whose career is on the rise. Although she is currently in the studio, the original tracks that she has already recorded are already creating buzz within the music industry. With a love for classical movies and musicals, at the tender age of seven, Anthone, began her ascent toward her dream of becoming an entertainer. With a thirst to perfect her craft, Athone studied ballet, tap and hip-hop. It was at this point her incredible singing voice was discovered.
Born and raised in Harlem, which is now the place to be in New York City, the 21 year-old's neighborhood of Scrilla Hill, gave her a creative background in which she was able to form a group with her pals on the block. In an age where single parenting is unfortunately the norm in African-American homes , Athone, was fortunate to be blessed with growing up in a two-parent household. Always humble even as a youth, Athone never felt she was above her friends who only lived with one parent, and thanks God daily for all she has been blessed with. With the energy and determination of the Girl Groups of the era that came before Athone and her friends, such as Destiny's Child, Xscape, Total and Jade, the innovative young ladies performed at local talent shows, churches and functions in the neighborhood.
Athone's talent as a teenager soon began to soar past just singing and dancing, garnering her an award for her great writing skills and her ability to develop and create her own stories.
The music that flows through Athone's veins and onto the tracks she is currently writing and recording is a reflection of her experiences and her vivid imagination. Boasting a pen game that the world has never experienced combined with a voice that sends chills down listeners' spines, Athone hopes to follow in the footsteps of her idol Michael Jackson, and like him, become a phenomenon......."
